Recently Year 6 were paid a visit by two visiting magistrates. They can to school to talk to the children about what life is like as a magistrate and what they actually do. Along with a very interesting talk the children were given the opportunity to role play different characters in a real life trial.
Taking on the roles as court witnesses, defence lawyers, prosecutors and magistrates themselves the children listened to evidence and tried to weigh up both sides of the argument to determine if the defendant was guilt or not.
Verdict - Guilty.
