3G Class Web Page - Spring 08

In Science we have been looking at the function of the different parts of a plant. What better way to discover what we needed to know than to go out on to our nature trails and investigate real plants. In the photo you can see some of the class investigating why plants have roots and what roots really look like. Don’t worry no plants were injured in the taking of these photos.
This half term we have been in the hall doing gym. Each week we have one floor work lesson and one apparatus lesson. Here the class is exploring the five basic jumps on to, off of and over the apparatus. Mr Gargan was really impressed by the end of the lesson with our new moves.
We have used the I.C.T. suite a lot this year for many subjects. Just recently we have been using Audacity to record reports. We were horrified to hear how we really sounded. In the photo though you can see some of the class using Revelation Natural Art to explore different patterns, which is what we have been doing in Art as well.
Our last D.T. topic was sandwich tasting. Before we got round to making our final sandwich we had to explore the different kinds of bread and fillings that there were. As you can imagine we didn’t like them all. Then we had to focus our skills so that our final sandwich looked as good as it tasted. Mr Gargan felt that many of the class were very creative in what they decided to have as their fillings.
One of the new year three Literacy topics is Instructional writing. Before we settled down to any writing we thought it would be a good idea to explain it verbally first. So we decided to create instructional videos. We were really nervous being videoed but loved to do the videoing.
